UPCOMING CEA SEMINARS

Neuromuscular Exercises for Posture and Breathing: A program based on principles of developmental kinesiology and yoga principles.

6 - 9 June             Sydney                                                           Jiri Cumpelik

1. Understanding the importance of breathing mechanics in postural stabilisation and its application for therapeutic purpose.

The purpose oriented posture has to coordinate with breathing because the diaphragm has an important role in posture stabilisation. Therefore, in this workshop, we will emphasize the control of breathing. The first sign of core instability is derangement of the diaphragm and dysfunction of the abdominal muscles. This can be observed in the whole body however more prominently in pelvis, shoulder girdle and feet.

2. Training of diaphragm, abdomen and pelvic floor for stabilization of spine.

The system of spinal exercises is based on practical experience utilizing developmental kinesiology and yoga principles.

3. Role of CNS in cultivating the posture.

The important part of the workshop is to develop awareness of the posture; a visualization and focus on posture can be cultivated which slowly becomes a natural habit.
